Classes

Please note that the ages given below for each class are an indicative guideline only and progression is based on an individual students’ ability.

ISTD Ballet

Mummy and Me – Fun & friendly class for you to share with your little one aged 18 months+. Lots of dancing, singing and make believe – with use of lots of lovely props!

Preschool Ballet – Ages 3-4. Emphasis is on creative movement. Mime and imagination with use of props creates a magical, adventurous ballet class. 

Pre Primary / Primary Ballet – Ages 5-7. The first steps into the ISTD ballet exam syllabus. Creative movement with a focus on correct classical technique.

Grade 1- 3 ISTD Ballet – Ages 8-11. Continuing with the ISTD classical technique, increasing the knowledge of reportoire and variations. Students become more aware of the classical physicality and classes involve ballet based conditioning exercises to improve their facility.

Grade 4-6 ISTD Ballet – Ages 12-15 with extensive prior training. Working towards the major ballet syllabus. Classes are more demanding and there is a focus on strength and working towards pointe work. Students are recommended to take extra conditioning classes at this level.

Intermediate ISTD Ballet – Age 14+ First step in vocational, pre professional ballet training.

Pointe Work – A specialist class focusing on the correct training of pointework. Developing core exercises at the barre and improving strength and repertoire in the centre.

ISTD Tap

Grade 1 – 5 Tap – Age 8+ Progression through the ISTD syllabus. Developing style, performance, musical knowledge and rhythmic response.

Intermediate ISTD Tap  – Ages 13 and up. Intermediate-advanced.

Advanced 1 & 2 Tap – Age 14+ Advanced level vocational training.

ISTD Modern

Primary ISTD Modern – Ages 6-7 No previous training required. The first stage of the ISTD modern syllabus.

Grade 1-5 ISTD Modern – Ages 8-12. Exam technique and core strengthening. Increased focus on limbering.

Grade 6 ISTD Modern – Age 13+

Intermediate & Advanced ISTD Modern – Age 14+ Vocational level training

LAMDA

‘LAMDA’ drama lessons can be booked individually or in pairs. Students have the option to take acting exams. These classes help build confidence and prepare for auditions.

Acrobatic Arts

Students can enrol from age four and a half upwards. Acrobatic Arts is the beautiful fusion of the artistic motion of dance and the athleticism of acrobatics. It promotes excellence in tumbling, flexibility, strength, balance, contortion and group / partner tricks.

duet

Contemporary & Jazz

Free work classes with a variety of styles. Working the good old classic leaps, kicks and turns technique, finishing off with a routine.

Musical Theatre

Junior Musical Theatre – Ages 5-6 years. An easy mix of singing, dancing and drama. Encouraging team work and improving performance skills.

Mids Musical Theatre – Ages 7-9 years. Singing, dancing and drama. Encouraging team work and improving performance skills.

Pre-Senior Musical Theatre – Ages 10-12 years. Developing correct singing technique. Improving confidence within performance and working together as a team. 

Senior Musical Theatre – Ages 13+. Advanced routines, combining the three disciplines, with a focus on the ‘Voicecraft’ vocal technique. Prior training required.

Street Dance

This class focuses on the skills and versatility required to interact with a camera. Learning fun routines from up to date pop music right through to the classics of Michael Jackson & Madonna.

Commercial dance teaches students the performance skills required to succeed in the tough world of backing dancers, cruise performers and west end professionals!

Adult and Advanced

Adult Tap (Experienced) – Ages 16+

Body Conditioning – Core strengthening and full body workout.

JLDA Elite – Invitation only. Competitions team training and show preparation.
